Synthetic temporal contact networks

Synthetic networks for studying spread
Livestock movements create contacts that change through time. NetForge generates synthetic livestock contact networks by combining stochastic block models with contact history selection.
I developed the generator within the IMBIT pandemic preparedness programme. Its evaluation considers temporal reachability and simulated infection dynamics, connecting network structure to the processes that the networks are intended to represent.
From a network method to research software
NetForge brings together a generative model, diagnostic comparisons and software documentation. The project provides a way to study how synthetic temporal networks reproduce relevant features of the observed system.
The accompanying bioRxiv preprint describes the method and its evaluation. Software documentation provides implementation details.
Contribution
Developed the network generator and its scientific evaluation within IMBIT.
